I love, love, love having FAMILY-FRIENDLY entertainment to share with you! (If you haven’t yet, be sure to enter to win tickets to see All Saints in theaters.) I’m excited to see that great movies are coming to theaters and releasing on DVD. We love going to the movies, but sometimes it’s much simpler to order a pizza and sit at home and watch. Plus, I have loving DVD’s because we can share with friends and family! So, I’m happy to share that Altar Egos will be available on DVD in September!
About Altar Egos
Desperate to see their church grow, Pastor John (Robert Amaya, MOM’S NIGHT OUT, COURAGEOUS) and wife Betsy (Erin Bethea, FIREPROOF) do the unthinkable and change their church Christmas pageant. Flabbergasted, elderly choir director Mary Margaret (Sallie Wanchisn) leads the choir to boycott. Facing termination, Pastor John resorts to disguising himself as an old man to bridge the generation gap, win over Mary, and lead the choir back to the church. When he discovers that the wounds run deeper than he first suspected, Pastor John must learn to love the unlovable or risk the ruin of his church and family. Also stars Victoria Jackson (SNL).
Heidi Says …
I haven’t gotten to view this movie in its entirety yet. It’s the end of summer and between having one sick child that we’re running back and forth to doctor’s offices and tests at the hospital and another child starting 6th grade (at home), I barely have time to breathe and do household tasks, let alone sit down for TV time for 88 minutes. So, I’ve been watching this movie in chunks as I am able. What I’ve seen so far, I’ve enjoyed. I love that this movie includes actors and actresses that I’ve seen before and enjoyed (such as Erin Bethea from Fireproof and Robert Amaya from Courageous). When I see people that I know play in good, decent movies, I always feel like the movie will be one that our family will enjoy.
This movie covers themes that are SO IMPORTANT to us in this day and age. Things like loving the unlovable and conflict resolution are themes that the world needs to be reminded of! Altar Egos also touches on the change vs. tradition theme. This is one that my family has been working through this past year as we’ve had to change a lot of our holiday traditions since my parents have become snowbirds. This movie will definitely help to spark that discussion as at least one of my children has issues with traditions being changed (I won’t mention any names!)
Altar Egos will be released on DVD on September 5th. Be sure to check out the official website for all the details.
