Be Our Guest seems to be everyone’s restaurant of choice in the Magic Kingdom these days. In making plans for our December trip, we did consider scheduling a dinner here, but the dinner menu really had no appeal to my family (or me). On our first day at the Magic Kingdom, though, we decided that since we had a FastPass+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle at 11:35, that it would be perfect timing to grab an early lunch at Be Our Guest. So, we hopped in line.
The line outside the restaurant moved faster than expected. That’s a good thing – because the line inside was not so swift. A lot of people seemed to have problems with the interactive ordering screens (which I felt were pretty self-explanatory and simple to use). I guess there’s one in every crowd – and we just so happened to luck out behind the slowpokes!
I didn’t take any pictures of the ordering kiosks, but you simply step up to a touchscreen and place your order that way (we do this all the time at Sheetz, so it was pretty simple). The only thing that was slightly confusing was remembering to order each course as part of the DDP. We all decided on our choices and went to find a table.
The restaurant is beautiful. It was rather crowded; so after checking out all the dining rooms, we ended up back in the main seating area, near the drink stations. It was rather dark in there, but not as dark as some Disney restaurants. I was anxious to see how they would find our table, but they did. The waiter said it’s just part of the “Disney Magic” and I believe him to be right!
We were all thrilled with our meal selections. I guess too thrilled to take pictures – though I did snap a picture of mine. Gracie and I each ordered the Croque Monsieur (pictured below), which is described as a “Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites” (in English – grilled ham & cheese with french fries!). Ashley went with the Carved Turkey Sandwich – “Carved Turkey Sandwich served warm on a Baguette with Dijon Mayonnaise and Pommes Frites”. She and I ended up splitting our sandwiches, half and half, so we could try a variety (we do this often). Brian decided on the Braised Pork – “Eight Hour Slow-cooked Pork with Mushrooms, Onions, Carrots and Bacon served with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans Jardiniere” (I’m sure he picked the mushrooms out, but he said the meal was delicious). Ian ordered off the kids’ menu and decided on the Whole-Grain Macaroni – “Whole-Grain Macaroni with Marinara Sauce and Mozzarella served with Seasonal Vegetables” (which he substituted for fries).
We all opted for different dessert choices too. In the collage above, moving clockwise from the top right – Ashley’s Tropical Fruit Cream Puff (Tropical Fruit Cream Puff filled with Passion Fruit Mousse topped with Whipped Cream), Brian’s Lemon Meringue Cupcake (Vanilla Sponge Cake, Lemon Custard Filling and Flamed Meringue Icing), Gracie’s Triple Chocolate Cupcake (Chocolate Sponge Cake, Chocolate Mousse Filling and Chocolate Ganache), and my Master’s Cupcake (Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with Lumiere’s special “Grey Stuff”). Everyone said their choice was delectable, but I think mine was probably the best. I just had to try “the grey stuff” and it really was quite yummy!)

Yes. Based on our personal experience, we would definitely recommend Be Our Guest FOR LUNCH. We can’t speak for the dinner. I would also recommend getting in line early for an early lunch.
Will we dine there again?
Yes. In fact, Ashley and I are hoping to return in November, when we go on a Girls’ Only Trip to celebrate her 21st birthday!
What about YOU?
