Hey, friends! I’ve got a new line of clothing – and an awesome consultant – to introduce you to today …
LulaRoe is taking the internet world by storm and I’m not done talking about them on my blog, but there’s room for so much more than just one clothing company, right? Today, I’d like to introduce you to a similar company called Honey & Lace. I had heard the name floating around but hadn’t really checked into it until my friend Chelsie started talking about it. Then, all of a sudden, we were hooked! We got involved in a group on Facebook and were so impressed by all the helpful consultants who were standing by to answer questions and share clothing.
I also am impressed with the prices, which are less than the prices of similar items from LulaRoe. So, if you’re someone who was on the fence about LulaRoe because you didn’t want to invest in it, give Honey & Lace a try! (I’ll still be wearing both because they mix and match well!)
Introducing Laura Schaller
One of the first consultants who started chatting with me and answering my never-ending list of questions was Laura Schaller. That first night that we were chatting with each other, I honestly felt like I had made a new friend. Not only was Laura so helpful in sharing about sizing and styles, but I felt like I had known her for a long time. Talking to her felt like chatting with an old friend. And, did I mention she’s from my favorite place – Florida? I’m hoping I get the opportunity to meet this lovely lady in person one of these days!
Unboxing Laura’s Surprise Package
Laura’s package came so quickly and I was so excited to open it up and find what new goodies were in store for me. I was trying to make the video brief, but I was just having so much fun with all the new clothes!
Wearing My New Honey & Lace
One of the things that first impressed me about Honey & Lace was that they have a wide variety of styles available. Now, I’m not one who wears sleeveless much, but I’ve really been minding the heat this summer (age?!) My daughter Ashley was so excited to see the Sunnyvale dress and, I’ll admit, I was anxious to try it myself. Laura actually sweetly sent an extra Sunnyvale in my package for Ashley – and they just so happened to coordinate really well together, so we had to take a picture! The Sunnyvale is so cute and fun – it’s a sleeveless swing dress with pockets and I love the length (I’m on the shorter side and this dress falls just at my knees).
The Sunnyvale (as well as other items from Honey & Lace) is available in different materials. The striped one that Ashley is wearing above is a soft, cottony material, while my polka dot one is more slinky. Both fabrics are nice and feel great; but if you have issues with fabrics, you might want to inquire about the material before purchasing (if you’re ordering online). I’m sure some people prefer one over the other.
I actually decided to have some fun with my Sunnyvale the other week. It’s hard for me to let loose sometimes, but I posted this picture on Instagram and gots lots of compliments. I think I need to wear those crazy polka dot glasses more often!
The Torrence Tee
The shirt that I originally received in my package – in the video above – was an Oakland Tee. I tried it on and it was really snug (in a 2X). I just knew I wouldn’t be comfortable leaving the house in it. It went so well with the Maxi skirt that she had sent – I loved that skirt but it was Julian Maxi which is cut a bit narrower than the Marina Maxi and it was just a bit snug for me. Laura very graciously replaced both items for me and I ended up with a Torrence Tee and a Ventura Skirt.
I really love the Torrence because it’s a bit more flowy in the mid-section (while fitting a bit snugger across the bust). It reminds me a bit more of a Perfect Tee from LulaRoe (which is my favorite of their tees) but it doesn’t have the side slits. It matched with both the skirt she sent me and the leggings that had been in the original package. So, I decided to pair it with the leggings first.
I felt very comfortable in this shirt and would definitely purchase more of them. I believe I could also size up and be fine.
I will tell you that, when I first put on these leggings, I wasn’t 100% sure if I was going to like them or not. They are different from LulaRoe leggings in that they don’t have the yoga-style waistband. Instead, their waistband is a simple elastic one. At first, I thought it felt kind of tight. And, quite frankly, I was afraid it might roll as I wore them or sat in them. BUT, as the day went on, I am pleased to say that I actually felt really great in these leggings! (They are pictured above and they are JUST BEAUTIFUL!)
The waistband ended up staying in place and I actually felt like they stayed up really well (sometimes I feel I am pulling my other leggings up a lot and I didn’t have to do that with these at all). And, they are made of a super nice material. It’s a bit thicker than LulaRoe leggings and just feels really good. At $19 per pair, I will definitely buy more of them when I come across cute patterns. (And speaking of patterns, the pair I got from Laura may be my current favorite pair of leggings!)
The Ventura Skirt
Skirts are just really not my thing. Or, at least, that has been my thought process for the last several years. I have stepped out of my comfort zone and worn a few maxi skirt, but this was a whole new ballgame for me! Since I had already worn the Torrence Tee that Laura had sent with this skirt, I decided to pair it with some staples I had in my closet. I wore this outfit to church this past Sunday and felt pretty put together if I do say so myself.
Again, I am loving the mix & match factor with these clothes! It’s exciting to be able to look into my closet and see things that maybe didn’t come together but will coordinate nicely with each other. I am never at a loss for something to wear these days!
I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that Laura also sells Paparazzi jewelry! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Paparazzi because they have so many awesome jewelry styles (including lots of long necklaces, which I am currently loving) and everything is always $5! I’ve never been a huge jewelry person, so I love that I don’t have to spend a lot of money (and I don’t care so much if I lose or break a piece of jewelry). Plus, at $5 each, I can buy as much as I want (shhh! don’t tell my hubby). Oh, and many of the necklaces come as a set with earrings too, so you’re getting a REAL BARGAIN!
Laura shares her Paparazzi stash on her Facebook page (link is below) and I love it because you can find a cute Honey & Lace outfit and then you can grab some jewelry to coordinate with it.
I was looking at her long necklace selection when I came across several lanyard holders. I know I will need one for our upcoming Disney cruise, and this is just perfect – it will do double duty as a pretty necklace, while also serving to hold my Key to the World card and other goodies. AND, it came with matching earrings!
