rubbed Beef Short Ribs with Tamarind-Barbeque Sauce served with Onion Red Bliss Mashed Potatoes and Plantain Chip
One good thing about having a food allergy on a Disney cruise ship is that your server will bring you the next night’s menu the night before at dinnertime. So, I got to pick my meals ahead of time, so that he’d be able to run my selections by the head chef to make sure they were safe for me to eat. I pretty much know what I can and cannot order, as I have to fend for myself at local restaurants; but it’s so nice to know that you are being so well cared-for at Disney (and on the Cruise Line).
I knew two of the menu items were seafood, so they were totally out of the question. The other options were Castaway Chicken Breast, The Dutchmen’s Dijon Crusted Sirloin of Beef. The sirloin was my 2nd choice – but Jack Sparrow . . .
What can I say?! I’m so taken by that guy that I had no choice but to order the menu item with HIS NAME on it! I’m not even kidding right now. I wish I was, but that’s how easily swayed I am. Put Captain Jack’s name on something, and it’s pretty much mine (oh, God forbid they put his name on a Dooney & Bourke purse!)
The picture doesn’t do this meal justice. It was really delicious.
What name would influence YOU to order a meal?!
