Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Green. Enjoy the ride as we share our #DisneySide.
Back in September, the Disney Parks Blog introduced their newest campaign – Show Your Disney Side. Thomas Smith, Social Media Director for the Disney Parks, had this to say:
. . . the idea of showing your Disney side – the side of you that says “yes” more often, laughs louder and lives life to the fullest. It’s the side of you that embraces fun and comes out to play the moment you step through the gates at Disney Parks.
Ever since that time, I’ve been thinking a lot about MY Disney Side. Obviously, I knew I had a Disney Side, as Disney plays a very large part in my day-to-day life. For the sake of this post, I decided to take the quiz and see what my “official” Disney Side is. Here are my results:
This certainly rings true for me in that, like Belle, my nose can normally be found in the middle of a great book/story! I love books because they allow you the ability to go to a different time and place and to be whatever you want to be!
But, I believe my personal #DisneySide is so much more.
I spend the better part of my day at my desk, working. And these are just a few of the things that surround me:
See the Birnbaum’s Guide to the far left? The book gets the credit for starting my fascination with Walt Disney World way back in 1988. I still reference that book, as well as all the others on my desk, on a regular basis. (And this is just a fraction of the Disney books my family owns.)
We have Disney pictures from past trips on display throughout our house, and on our yearly calendars as well. We love having these little tidbits of Disney to remind us each day of this special place and feeling.
While I don’t have an “official” Disney blog, Disney has become the #1 source of inspiration for most of my posts here at Heidi’s Head. A few years ago, after a bout with stress-induced amnesia, I realized that sometimes it’s important to focus more on the fun stuff, rather than the stressful/heavy stuff. Disney is my happy place, and thoughts of it are happy thoughts. Therefore, I share them!
I love being a part of online Disney groups! Some of my Disney blogging friends are counted among my besties! Becoming a Co-Owner and Captain for the Magical Blogorail just seemed like the natural next step.
Out and About
I carry a Disney purse. I wear Disney clothes. I flash my Disney Visa. I’m often seen with a Disney book or magazine in hand. When I hear someone mention Disney, I’m apt to join into the conversation with them. I find that Disney lovers are a sort of extended family – there’s a special bond there.
One of my favorite places to visit is the Disney Store. It’s always good for a “Disney fix” between Disney trips. I love finding fun treasures there to add to my Disney collection.
We are “that family”, proud to wear our matching Disney shirts. Part of the fun, for me, is designing the shirts and making them special.
My favorite part of being at the Disney Parks is that I feel this sense of freedom to relax and be myself, even if being myself means acting like a kid again. There isn’t a care in the world! To me, that’s the best part about my #DisneySide.
I wouldn’t have it any other way! So, what about YOU? How do you show your #DisneySide?
