Anyone who has spent about a fraction of a second on my blog, probably knows that I’m addicted to Walt Disney World. But, our family is planning a “different sort of Orlando vacation” for this coming March. I’ve been to SeaWorld once (back in 2005); but have not had opportunity to visit any of the other Orlando area theme parks. So, I was thrilled to see that my good friends over at The Intrepid Traveler had some books that would help me plan our trip.
About the Book
A WHOLE NEW WAY TO EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF ORLANDO
Swim with the dolphins. Dive into a shark tank. Hand feed exotic birds. Go on safari. Pet a giraffe. Meet a beluga whale. Snorkle past barracuda. And top it off with some of America’s most awesome roller coasters.
Then sip fine wine in some of Orlando’s best reataurants and pamper yourself at some of its poshest resorts. This is your luxury guide to great theme parks that celebrate the wonders of nature and the great resorts nearby.

Heidi Says . . .
In making plans for our upcoming trip, we decided to go ahead and purchase SeaWorld tickets for our kids for Christmas. On the purchase page, we noticed an option to upgrade – for only $5 more, we could get a 2nd full day at Busch Gardens Tampa. It seemed like way too good of a deal to pass up, so we went for it.
And, I quickly grabbed my copy of SeaWorld, Discovery Cove & Aquatica off my shelf! I knew this 2nd edition copy had a bonus chapter on Busch Gardens. And since it’ll be 10 years since our last SeaWorld visit and we’ve never been to Busch Gardens (in Tampa), I was thrilled to have this helpful book.
Being the organized perfectionist that I am, I appreciated the first chapter in this book, which goes over what you can expect in the rest of the book, including how each chapter is laid out, and a brief overview of the book, including websites and ticket prices (at the time of publication).
Of course, I spent most of the remainder of my reading time focusing on the two chapters that cover the parks we plan to visit in March – SeaWorld and Busch Gardens. I found them very helpful! I like the author’s quick tips on Eating and Shopping, but especially love the more specific breakdowns of each and every attraction and restaurant. I love the little ratings system of stars, along with a quick explanation of type, time and Kelly says (which gives me an idea of who in my family might enjoy it). Because my kids are so far apart in age (21, 14, and 8) and so different in personality, this is extremely helpful.
I know we’ll be spending a lot of time going through this book with a fine-tooth comb to come up with our plan of attack for our days in these fun parks! Now, I’m even more excited!
