I am so excited to honor our dear Disney friend, and my fellow Magical Blogorail Captain, Rosanne from The Disney Point with this virtual baby shower, celebrating the recent birth of her adorable little Ryan! And we’re so glad that YOU have decided to hop aboard this loop and join us for the fun!
Each stop on today’s loop will be featuring a different aspect of the shower, such as the invitation, food, decorations, gifts, etc. I’m going to talk about the “fun stuff” – games, prizes, and favors . . . Since Rosanne has chosen to decorate Ryan’s nursery in a Magic Kingdom theme, I decided to get my game & goody inspiration from the Storybook Circus section of the New Fantasyland.
Nobody should leave a shower without some sort of goody, right?! I mean, I’m pretty competitive when it comes to games – I like to win. But, not everyone can win. So, we want to make sure that everyone leaves the baby shower feeling special. My prize table will include a few prizes for the game winners; but it will also include a little favor that each guest can take home with them.
Each guest will receive a jelly-sized mason jar, filled with iced animal cookies and finished off with some pretty pink and blue ribbon around the lid. I’ve made little gift cards for on each jar as well, thanking our guests for coming and being a part of this special day.
We were shopping at the Disney Store for prizes the other day and it just so happened that the Disney Plush were “Buy 1, Get 1 for $1”. What a great way to pick up some plush Dumbos for prizes! So, we’ll have Dumbos in various sizes on the prize table (including the adorable little Tsum Tsums!) We’ve also got a Fantasyland-themed plate and a Tsum Tsum mug (each featuring Dumbo); and, of course, a copy of the Dumbo movie!
Which prize would YOU like to win?
We’ll only play one “official” game – Baby Shower Bingo. I did a Google Search for “baby shower bingo” and found several places where you can purchase Bingo cards and/or download them and print them on your own. However, I’ve decided to create my own using fun images from the Disney Store (similar to the prize collage above).
In addition to Bingo, each guest will have the opportunity to help create a very special ABC book for Ryan. Taking inspiration from Casey Junior, I have made up cards on cardstock – each one will feature the outline of a train car, along with a letter of the alphabet. I actually did a search for “train car template” on Google and found TONS of freebies. There’s a craft table set up, complete with crayons, colored pencils, markers, and items to be cut and glued on (for younger kids). I’ll also have a digital camera and printer handy, in case guests want to take pictures to include on their page. Each guest will select a letter of the alphabet and use the craft items to come up with something clever for that letter. When the shower is over, I’ll compile them all into a keepsake book.
