Tiggerific Tuesday – Cinderella Mosaics

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia

Special thanks to my friends – Jodi @ Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Mike @ My Dreams of Disney, and Jennifer @ Disney Babies Blog – for co-hosting this fun meme!

Did you know? The beautiful mosaics in Cinderella’s Castle were designed by Disney artist Dorothea Redmond and crafted by famed mosaicist Hanns-Joachim Scharff.  No one has counted the pieces of Italian glass – a press release says “hundreds of thousands.”  Some were fused with silver and 14-karat gold.  The smallest pieces were the size of the head of a tack.

Simply stunning! I have to stop and stare at these every trip, so much detail. I can’t believe that some pieces were only the size of a head of a tack. Thanks for sharing your trivia!
