Oh my gosh! I love this book! A few years ago, we received a copy of The Adventure Bible to review. I thought it was a great Bible for kids and ended up sharing it with my pastor so that he could give it to a child who didn’t have a Bible.
This book, I’m keeping, though! It is full of so many great ideas for activities and crafts. We are a homeschool family with only one child left to homeschool and he often gets bored. Rather than ending up in front of the TV, I’m hoping this book will inspire him to try some new things. Some of the crafts will require minimal parental supervision, but most of the ideas are ones that he will be able to do on his own (at age 12).
There are a few ideas that I’m excited to get started on right away, such as the Build Your Own Bird Feeder, the Rock Messages, the T-shirt Bag, and the Wonderful Wind Chimes. Most of the ideas contain items that you are sure to already have on hand or can easily find in nature, which is a huge plus. I tend to like instant gratification and, if I have to go to the store and purchase things for crafts, I tend to lose the momentum.
This book retails for $12.99 and is definitely worth the cover price!
God’s Big Plans For Me Storybook Bible
Based On The New York Times Bestseller The Purpose Driven Life
God’s Big Plans for Me Storybook Bible illustrates the 40 foundational principles written in the #1 New York Times bestseller The Purpose Driven Life (What on Earth Am I Here For?) by Pastor Rick Warren. With child-friendly language, engaging illustrations, and a chronological approach, Pastor Warren introduces each Bible story with a theme that aligns with one of his foundational principles. He wraps up the stories with a closing thought targeted to early readers. The colorful illustrations and narrative tone bring these beloved Bible stories to life for readers young and old. God’s Big Plans for Me Storybook Bible has foil decoration on the cover.

This was not a book that I chose to review, but one that they sent to me as an “extra.” When I saw it in my package, I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical. Why? Because I wasn’t a huge fan of The Purpose Driven Life. I wasn’t among those who jumped on that bandwagon. I did read the book and definitely found some good in it, but there were also things that I didn’t necessarily agree with. That book was a reminder to me that God and the Bible need to be our measuring stick in life, not the books of men.
But, that being said, I really like this storybook Bible for little ones. It’s set up much like a devotional with 40 days’ worth of stories. Each day starts off with an introduction, then shares the story itself (and it’s accompanying Scripture reference), and ends with some application (in the form of something to think about, another Bible reference that cements the idea in place, and a thought-provoking question). I chose Day 21 to show here because it does start off with the principles in The Purpose Driven Life, which I found interesting (and not overwhelming). The story for Day 21 is “The Boy Jesus Amazes the Scholars.”
At $18.99, I think this is a great little storybook Bible to share with your child.

OK, so I know this Bible says “for Girls” on it, but I would think that any age female would LOVE this Bible! It’s beautiful. The cover is colorful and a fun design that is appealing to all. I love that there is room for personal journaling, but there are also pages where the journaling has already been done for you! Some are full-page spreads, while others just take up the margin/journaling space.
This Bible retails for $34.99 and I feel it is totally worth that price! If you need a Bible gift for a young lady in your life, this is one that I’d highly recommend. I’m planning to share mine with a young lady friend of mine who has made a point to wake up to her Bible each morning! I hope she loves this one!
