(I’d love to have YOU join me, by sharing THREE THINGS about YOU on your blog! Be sure to link up below!)
Well, it’s the first Thursday of July. You know what that means, right? It’s time for 3 Things Thursday, Disney-Style! This week, I’m moving along the Magic Kingdom to Fantasyland. Let’s focus on 3 things I love about this land . . .
This one is a toughy because with the New Fantasyland expansion there is SO MUCH to love! It’s so hard to narrow it down to just three things. (In fact, I considered breaking this topic down into Parts 1 & 2.) But, let’s see . . .
#1 – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Ashley and I had opportunity to ride it a few days before its official opening as part of an industry breakfast meeting we attended with friends. It was a blast! I recently shared my thoughts as part of a Magical Blogorail Attraction Guide:
We got to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train a few days before its official opening. It was a blast! The special effects inside the mine are amazing. The swinging ride cars are an interesting concept. We went through the FastPass line, so we didn’t experience the interactive queue, but the scenery along the path was awesome – including the cottage. But, more than anything, I’m impressed with the sheer magnitude of the mountain itself . . . you can literally walk all the way around it on all sides! As usual, Disney has outdone themselves!
Here’s our “after” picture, with our hair all blown around:
#2 – Dueling Dumbos
Would you believe me if I told you that until Disney created the Dueling Dumbos in the New Fantasyland I had NEVER ridden this ride? It’s true! I know it’s like blasphemy or something. But, I always dreaded the very long line (I’m short on patience!) Since Dueling Dumbos came along, we’ve ridden several times. In fact, Ashley and I rode alone (sans little kids) on our recent visit. And we weren’t the only adults that were without kids either. We rode at night this time, which was a nice change of pace.
#3 – The Beast’s Castle and Lunch at Be Our Guest
Honestly, I couldn’t understand what all the hype over Be Our Guest was. I mean, sure the venue is neat, but the dinner menu really didn’t have much appeal to me. It still doesn’t. But, we decided to check it out for lunch on our trip this past December and we LOVED it. So much so that we’re planning to take our friends there for lunch this fall. I really loved their take on the traditional grillled ham and cheese and the cupcake variety they have for dessert is pretty awesome!
