For the past 3 months, I’ve been doing a series of 3 things posts, sharing what I love about various “lands” at the Magic Kingdom. If you missed the first 3 posts, you can find them here:
Now, this week, we’re moving on to the next land – Liberty Square. Here are 3 things that I just love about this part of the Magic Kingdom park . . .
#1 – The Hall of Presidents
This attraction made a huge impression on this history-lovin’ girl when we made our first trip to the World in 1988, and it’s been a favorite of mine ever since. From the outside of the attraction (which closely resembles Independence Hall in Philadelphia) to the inner sanctuary (where you see the actual presidential seal – which is only found 2 other places in the world!) to the actual show itself (featuring all 44 U.S. presidents in audio-animatronic form), this attraction is beyond amazing! It’s like stepping back in time!
# 2 – The Haunted Mansion
Seriously, what’s not to love about the Haunted Mansion?! The special effects in this attraction are just too fun to miss. And now that they’ve added the interactive queue, you’re entertained from the time you set foot in the line! This is a favorite of my family.
#3 – Columbia Harbor House
This quick-service restaurant has quickly become a favorite of our family. Though I’m not a vegetarian, I love their Lighthouse Sandwich. But really, I just love the atmosphere. The upstairs is often not very crowded and it’s a nice place to sit down, relax, enjoy a meal, and regroup.
And a few honorable mentions:
I love the attention to detail in this section of the park. For example, do you know what the brown section of the walkway represents? And have you ever noticed that there aren’t any bathroom in this section of the park? Of course, I love the replica Liberty Bell (actually poured in the same mold as the original). And this:
