Here is my list of 3 Things I’m Looking Forward to This Weekend . . .
1. Easter! I’d be remiss if I didn’t put this one first. After all, Easter is a celebration for Christians! It’s the day we celebrate Christ’s resurrection from death and the grave. He conquered sin for us. Sure, the candy and the Easter baskets are fun; but we need to remember the real reason for the season.
I’m looking forward to church on Easter morning – my parents will be attending with us. We’ll start with a potluck breakfast (our church is good at potlucks!), then the kids will have an egg hunt, then we’ll move on to the worship service. The kids have a mini-cantata that they’ll be sharing – and Ian will be making his singing debut (he’s got a solo!)
2. Ian’s birthday. Despite the fact that I keep asking him to stay little, Ian keeps growing up! In his little heart, he desires to stay my baby forever; little does he know (or understand) that moms think that way, no matter big or old their babies may be!
I just can’t believe that MY baby will be turning 8! I can’t imagine not having this little guy in my life. He makes me smile on a daily basis.
3. My brother is biking to my parents house (right up the street) this Saturday. Here’s what mapmyride.com has to say about this particular trip:
This is a 103.87 mile route. This route has a total ascent of 3,950.13 feet and has a maximum elevation of 1,610.89 feet.
I’m not sure if he’s in really great shape (he is), or if he’s insane (that too), but it will be fun to see him at the end!
