I am always on the lookout for good devotional books. A few months ago, I received one called 5 Minutes with Jesus by Sheila Walsh. I’ve been using it now for awhile, and thought I’d share with you . . .
About the Book
In this very moment, God offers you the gift of His presence.
Your life is hectic! Juggling family time, work, and church equals jam-packed days. You want to spend time in God’s Word, but the busyness of life keeps getting in the way. What if, however, you could take five minutes to invest in making each day matter?
With her signature honesty, vulnerability, and humor, bestselling author Sheila Walsh helps you find perspective in the midst of your fast-paced life. Every entry features a powerful devotion, a guiding takeaway, and related Scripture that will nourish you, sustain you, and remind you that you are not alone.
These five minutes with Jesus just might become the most peaceful and meaningful moments of your day.

Heidi Says . . .
I love this little book! One of my favorite things about it is that it is not dated. I tend to get sidetracked by the dates and, if I end up falling behind, that depresses me. With 5 Minutes with God, there are no dates, so I can pick the book up anytime I want to and I don’t have to feel like I’ve somehow failed in my devotional life.
I keep the book right at the side of my desk, so I can easily grab it in the mornings and spend my 5 Minutes with God.
I’ve found the readings easily to read and applicable to me.
I appreciate Sheila’s openness to share personal stories from her own life in such a way that the reader can easily relate to them and apply them to her own life.
And, if all of that isn’t enough to make you want to pick up this handy dandy little book, then how about that cover?! I have to admit, it’s similarity to an adult coloring book was not lost on me. And, when I’m in need of a little stress relief, I grab this book and one of my fine point Sharpies, and go to town. See?
You can pick up this great little book over at Christianbook.com for only $7.49. It’s also available in paperback (for the same price ???) or as an eBook. You can also check out an excerpt from the book at the same link.
