I know, I know . . . I already took my turn at Riding the Rails this week. But, last week, we made a super simple, yet delicious and Disney-fied, dinner and I thought it was the perfect thing to share as part of the Valentine’s topic for this week. So, here goes . . .
A few years ago, I started reading about the waffles served at Sleepy Hollow in the Magic Kingdom. I didn’t think too much of it until about a year ago – when I finally decided that I liked Nutella (honestly, I much prefer the Aldi’s brand to the real deal!)
Anyway, I decided that I would break down and attempt a similar waffle creation. And, there’s been no turning back since. These things are so stinkin’ delicious. And, if you’re looking for a quick and easy dinner to serve your family, look no further. Waffles are awesome because each person can customize them to their own liking.
For this particular waffle creation, you will need:
- Your favorite waffle recipe (we use the one on the Aldi’s biscuit mix box)
- A Belgian waffle machine
- Nutella (or the Aldi’s brand, if you prefer!)
- Strawberries (it’s winter here in PA, so we just thawed out a bag of frozen berries)
- Whipped cream
Other toppings to have on hand (just in case):
- Pancake Syrup
- Peanut butter
- Other fresh (or thawed) fruits
Simply make your waffle, top it with a thin layer of Nutella, the berries, and some whipped cream!
It tastes like it took you hours to prepare! Your family will thank you! And they will love you!
And, if they’re anything like mine, they’ll ask for this recipe to be on the menu rotation over and over again!
