Each week, we each share a little tidbit of Disney-related trivia with you – and we hope that you all will join in the fun by sharing your own Disney trivia with us! Follow the hop and make new friends!
This month, my family and I will be visiting Walt Disney World for our first-ever holiday experience at the parks! Since we’ll be staying at Port Orleans Riverside, all my trivia tidbits will be about this resort and pulled from the Unofficial Port Orleans Resort Guide.
Did you know . . .
The wooden Alligator Bayou guest beds were hand-carved from hickory by a North Carolina woodworker hired by Disney specifically for the resort project. These fixtures, along with the matching mirror frames, were retained during the 2011/12 refurbishment.
Guess what? My family is at Disney RIGHT NOW – staying in a room just like the one pictured above! We love these beds in the Alligator Bayou rooms. It’s nice that, with the recent renovations, they were upgraded to Queen-size beds – and, since we are a family of 5, we appreciate the extra Murphy bed as well!
I love Disney’s attention to detail and authenticity! Don’t you?
