Heidi Says . . .
Our decision to dine at Yak & Yeti was not one that came lightly. In fact, up until a few weeks before our trip, we had plans to eat lunch at Tusker House on our Animal Kingdom day. But, we found out that our favorite server wouldn’t be working that day; and we’re kinda loyal. It just wouldn’t feel right dining there without him. So, we made the difficult decision to switch restaurants. But, the good news is that we got to try someplace new!
As Ashley and I perused the menu before our trip, I kept saying that I was going to order the ribs. What’s weird about this is that I NEVER order ribs. I like ribs IF they have a nice amount of meat on them and are tender enough to eat with a fork (instead of having to use your fingers). I’m a bit of a priss and messing up my hands with sticky rib sauce . . . well, that just doesn’t work for me. I think Ashley thought I was crazy because she knows this about me. In fact, both of us were expecting me to change my mind when we actually sat down to eat.
But, I asked our waitress if the ribs were able to be eaten with a fork and she said that they were. So, I went with my first choice. And, I’m so glad that I did. I loved EVERYTHING about this meal. The ribs were tender and very meaty! I’m not normally a huge meat eater, but I ate them all because they were so delicious. The hoisin BBQ sauce gave them a fabulous flavor. The chicken fried rice and sweet chili slaw that were served with the ribs were both really good also. Because I ate all the ribs, I ended up having to leave some of these things on my plate, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy them. In fact, I really, really liked the slaw – it was so simple, yet very tasty.
Would I get this meal again? You bet!
