My favorite food this week: Capricciosa Pizza (sans artichoke)
Via Napoli in Epcot’s Italy Pavilion
$19 (or one Table Service Credit on the Disney Dining Plan, which includes a beverage and dessert)
Heidi Says . . .
My thoughts on this pizza are difficult to put into words. When we made our dining reservations for Ashley’s 21st birthday trip, she wanted to try something different for her 21st birthday dinner – somewhere we’ve never been before. We tossed various ideas around, and finally decided on Via Napoli. After all, we both love Italian food. And, I’ve heard over and over again about the pizza that is served here – how “authentic” it tastes. Well, I lived in Italy for 5 months as a young child, and I’ve craved the taste of authentic Italian pizza ever since. So, I was so excited to actually try this pizza and see for myself. I had my heart set on “pizza with ham,” which is what we always ordered at the Pizzaria in Italy. However, there was no such pizza on the menu. My options on the Dining Plan where the Build-Your-Own pizza with one topping (and ham wasn’t an option that was listed) or something else. So, I finally went with the Capricciosa Pizza and asked for no artichokes. I wish I would have asked for no eggplant too. As you can see by the picture, all the toppings were just kinda piled together in one spot. I ended up picking a lot of them off and pushing them to the side of my plate. Honestly, this pizza disappointed me.
Ashley and Suzanne both had the Pepperoni Pizza. Ashley said it was good, but not her favorite. Their toppings were also all piled together in one place. I guess I’m just picky. When we make pizza at home, we evenly space the toppings out so you can get them in every bite. Oh well!
Is Via Napoli a favorite restaurant for you?
If so, what do you order there?
