My favorite food this week: Carrot Cake
on board the Disney Dream
Heidi Says . . .
On our first day aboard the Disney Dream, right after we found our stateroom and got settled in, we headed to Cabana’s for a late lunch. It’s kind of hard to focus on the actual food at Cabana’s because there is so much of it! I knew it was going to be a buffet, but the sheer size of it totally surprised me. There was way too much to choose from. But, the good news is that Brian could get what he liked and I could do the same – and our plates looked very different. Just so you know I didn’t just eat dessert, here is my lunch plate:
I must give a shout out to the pastry chef – who we met later on in the cruise when we attended a cooking demonstration. All the bread on the cruise was absolutely top-notch fabulous! But, really, everything you see on my plate was delicious.
For dessert, I chose the carrot cake, because I always enjoy the carrot cake at Walt Disney World. I wasn’t disappointed. Carrot Cake on the Disney Dream is just as delicious – moist and perfectly flavored with a light icing (that doesn’t overpower the taste of the cake). And it just looks so darn cute with that little icing carrot on top, don’t you think?
