It’s that time of year — the time when homeschool parents are deciding what subjects, curriculum, and books we need to buy for our next school year. I’m one that always wants to get the best possible deal, so I research my options, take notes, and in the end, I always come away feeling like I got the best possible deal.
Ashley will be entering her senior year in high school. She’s not sure yet what her future plans may be; but I have to confess that thoughts of college leave my head spinning on so many different levels.
For one thing, I remember the cost of college textbooks. They aren’t cheap! Today I was introduced to a website that specializes in textbook rentals. As much as I am obsessed with books and love to keep books; I recall throwing my college texts in a box, and stuffing it in the attic (never to be looked at again). So, the option of renting them really appeals to me. Using this option, the site claims that you can save up to 90%, shipping is free (both ways), and you have a 30-day risk-free return time. They also offer live customer support (nice!) and a very large selection of textbooks.
Oh, and get this — for every book rented from their website, they are donating a portion of the proceeds to Operation Smile (the organization that pays for surgeries for children with cleft lip). Their goal is to donate enough money to pay for 1,000 surgeries!
So, if you’re winding up your homeschool journey and in the market for college textbooks, this might be a good option. Check it out!
