When we first started making plans for a December Disney trip, the dates we chose were December 5-15th. When Disney released their Free Dining dates, our arrival date fell in a very small time frame when the discount was not available. So, we ended up changing our dates to the 12th-22nd. My research for the first set of dates led me to choose Wednesday the 18th as our free/resort-hopping day. I thought this would work out great following the Christmas Party the night before. However, when researching the new dates, Wednesday seemed like a better day to make our second trip to Hollywood Studios. So, that’s what we did.
Our shirts for today were inspired by our love of Monsters University. They each had the traditional logo on the front, but the backs were special – each one of us chose the sorority that must closely matched our personality and I put the sorority logos on the back. I was pretty pleased with these shirts, except for the paint color – we just couldn’t find the right shade of blue.
Here’s a glimpse at what the backs looked like:
We took our time and leisurely strolled the park for our second time. We had a FastPasses for StarTours, Toy Story Mania (again!), and Fantasmic. Other than that, we didn’t have much of a plan. We had lunch at one of our favorite quick service restaurants – Pizza Planet.
Green Army Man #1 was so impressed with Ashley’s autograph book that he called his friend over to share! 3 weeks after we were “faking” being cold, we wake up to -3 degree weather here in PA, with a windchill of -27. Needless to say, we’re longing for more Florida sunshine!
We had some fun getting some special PhotoPass pictures taken:
We left the park for a bit in the afternoon – took the boat over to the Swan & Dolphin and then walked over to the Boardwalk for awhile.I gotta say – I LOVE low-key days at Disney!
We finished up our day by heading back over to the Studios to see Fantasmic for the first time ever! I never really had a desire to see it because it was always hyped up as being about the Disney villains. However, I thought the show was really neat! We all enjoyed it. The FastPass seats were not the best – they were all the way to the far left of the theater – but, at least we can now say that we’ve seen the show! I didn’t even attempt to take pictures because I knew they wouldn’t turn out.
We were tired and ready to call it a night!
