While I’m not normally a huge fan of non-fiction, this little book by Matthew West appealed to me.
About the Book
God says there are no limits to forgiveness toward others or ourselves. And when Matthew West set out on a journey asking people to share their true life stories, Renée shared about how she chose to forgive the drunk driver who hit and killed her daughter.
This remarkable story and others like it bring peace and healing to the one needing and the ones giving forgiveness. Fifty powerful stories share forgiveness through divorce, betrayal, addiction, abandonment, death, and more. Each story ties into the promises of God’s faithfulness and healing, and ends with the story of God’s ultimate forgiveness through the message of salvation.
Heidi Says . . .
I’ve really been enjoying this book. It’s not the kind of book that you want to read through all at once. You can just pick it up and read a story or two here and there, and I like that! I’ve been taking it with me to read in the car while my kids have lessons, and the messages within its pages are powerful!
The book is divided into 4 sections – Forgiving Others, Asking for Forgiveness, Forgiving Yourself, and Embracing God’s Forgiveness – all areas that we all need reminders on each and every day. Sometimes one aspect of forgiveness is harder than others; the next day, that might change, depending on our circumstances at any given time.
Each section contains REAL LIFE examples, sent to Matthew from the people who lived them. Each one makes you stop and think. Some of them will even make you cry. You might feel convicted too.
Matthew follows each story up with his own personal thoughts.
I have very much appreciated this book. It’s smaller size and hardbound style would make it a nice gift.
