Another Friday rolls around. That means it’s time to focus on friendship again! Who will you focus on today?
Here’s my challenge for you this week . . . connect with an old friend in some way. Phone, e-mail, an old-fashioned note in the mail. Just make the connection. Make plans to get together, if possible.
As is the case with many of my online friends, I met Doreen through my former job. (As much as I wish I could erase that chapter of my life from memory, it would mean erasing a lot of important people – and that would be bad! Very bad!)
Doreen started out as one of the reviewers that worked for me. But, she became so much more – she became a friend.
I was so pleased to have the opportunity to meet her at the FPEA convention (in Orlando, FL) in May 2011.
Man, if only I lived in Florida. (I want to!) I know Doreen and I would be great friends. Here’s what I wrote when I posted this picture to my Facebook wall:
Meeting Doreen from the Crew – we’re even dressed alike! We could have fun together, I can tell!
You just never know where life will lead. And while we’ve both been through a lot of changes over the past couple of years, we’re still great friends.
Nowadays, we work together in a few ways:
- We both work as Community Managers and Customer Service Reps at Miaplaza.
- She writes a monthly column for us at Homeschool Mosaics. (If you like food, be sure to check out the Foodie Wannabe!)
- And she’s reviewing for our new team adventure – Mosaic Reviews.
I chat with Doreen on almost a daily basis. I’m so glad that I had the chance to meet her in person, and hope that we’ll be able to hook up again sometime in the future.
Doreen, thanks for being my friend! I can’t imagine my days – and my adventures – without you in them!
