A few weeks ago, I shared some videos introducing JJ Heller’s new children’s book and lullaby cd. If you missed that post, take a minute to go back and watch the videos now! I’ve since received a copy of each and would like to share a bit more about them with you . . .
About The Golden Feather (book)
“What will you dream tonight, my Love?” asks mother. The answer will take readers on a wonderful night time adventure. The discovery of a beautiful golden feather. The search for who it belongs to. The bond of friendship and love.
With bold colors, and vibrant environments, illustrator Luke Flowers creates scenes readers of all ages will want to return to again and again. Hidden within every illustration is a bunny for children of all ages to find. It won’t be easy, but the hunt is always rewarding.
About I Dream of You (cd)
2014 release from the singer, songwriter and mother, a collection of songs that are being called ‘modern lullabies’.
JJ says: “Over the years, I’ve written several love songs and lullabies for my little girls. I’ve heard countless stories of parents using these songs to soothe their children to sleep. My husband, Dave, and I took those stories to heart and intentionally spent most of last year writing and recording a collection of original lullabies for listeners of all ages. We named the record, I Dream of You.”
Heidi Says . . .
I love a good children’s book and this one certainly did not disappoint. It’s light on words and heavy on color! The storyline is simple enough for the littlest ones to follow along and not lose interest; yet the message is deep enough that even the older children will gather ’round to listen. The illustrations go along perfectly with the story.
The cd is lovely! I’ve listened to it over and over again and the songs are just so sweet. I find myself singing along, as they are easy to pick up on. I wish I had these songs to sing when my bigger girls were little enough to crawl up on my lap and ask me to sing to them. Ian is still small enough to snuggle and he loves to sing, so I hope to share these songs with him. I enjoy JJ’s sweet, clear voice. I can easily understand everything she says (which is rare in music these days).
While browsing JJ’s website, I saw the matching necklace that is available:
What a lovely idea for Mother’s Day this would be, in addition to a copy of the cd and the book! I’m sure any special lady in your life would enjoy this gift!
