Since this is becoming a Wednesday habit, I made a button to go along with my Smiley Things posts! (If you decide to share Smiley Things on your blog, I’d be happy to share the button with you!)
This has been such a good way to stay positive (and be content). And, I really do have so much to smile about and be thankful for. I’m guessing that you do too!
Here’s my list for this week:
🙂 Last Thursday, I was supposed to leave bright and early for a flight to Atlanta to help my friend Leah in the Curr-click booth at the Teach Them Diligently convention. I got to the airport, got through security (with a pat-down due to sequins on my shirt) and was waiting at my gate, only to find out that my flight had been cancelled and they couldn’t get me on another one for 6 hours. Now, there’s not much to do in the Harrisburg airport, but luckily Brian was able to come back and pick me up for awhile. I posted this status to FB while sitting outside the airport in Atlanta several hours later:
🙂 I had such a great time spending the weekend with my friend Leah. We’ve been friends since 2004, when I started homeschooling Gracie and joined some online homeschool groups. But, because she lives several states away, we don’t get to see each other often enough. It was fun to catch up.
🙂 As always, at homeschool conventions, it’s great to connect with online friends – those I’m meeting for the first time, or old friends I don’t get to see nearly enough.
🙂 Even though I had a 2 1/2 hour layover at the Philadelphia Airport on the way home (my least favorite airport), I was able to find a yummy lunch and was entertained by a cute little bird friend. And I had lots of goodies in my backpack to read and keep me busy.
🙂 When my plane landed in Harrisburg, I got right off (that’s one plus of tiny planes!), headed straight to baggage, grabbed my bag (which was the 3rd one to come out) and was outside sitting in the sunshine within about 3 minutes (that NEVER happens at airports!)
🙂 I got my van washed yesterday. You know it’s officially spring when the forecast for the next several days is nice enough to wash the car (my van got washed a few weeks ago in Florida, but hasn’t been washed since). Now, it looks so nice and shiny. And, I’m easily amused. I love going through the carwash at Sheetz. Just seeing the colors on my windshield makes me smile.
🙂 I got all my laundry done yesterday! This is one that will always put a smile on my face! I love that sense of accomplishment when all the laundry is done (even though it doesn’t last!) I can always tell that warmer weather is here when my loads get smaller and it takes less time to do the laundry!
What is making you smile today?
