Since my family started using the Disney Dining Plan, we’ve had opportunity to try a LOT of Disney snacks! And it’s been so much fun! I love trying new things, and Disney has so much to offer. This week, the Magical Blogorail Riding the Rails topic is Top 5 Disney Snacks (Kiosks Only). This seems like it could be a little tricky, but I’m going to give it a try!
First order of business = looking up the definition of the word KIOSK:
ki·osk [kee-osk, kee-osk]
nouna small structure having one or more sides open, used as a newsstand, refreshment stand, bandstand, etc.
Just as a thought! So, I can’t select any snack options from more permanent fixtures. That rules out my Dole Whip Float at Aloha Isle. So, let’s see, what are my family’s choices for favorite snacks from kiosks? In no particular order . . .
1. Turkey Legs
These jumbo turkey legs are large enough for our whole family to snack on (that is, of course, assuming that Gracie decides to share!) They are available throughout the Walt Disney World resort – but our two most visited places to grab them are at the Fife & Drum Tavern (food kiosk in front of the American Adventure Pavilion) and the Turkey Leg Cart in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom.
2. Cinnamon-glazed Almonds
These are a favorite of mine anywhere we go (not just Walt Disney World). You can smell them from a mile away and your mouth starts watering. Yum! They are available throughout the WDW resort at many snack kiosks.
3. Nestle Crunch Dibs
I’m not a fan of the Mickey icecream snacks. Sure, they look great because they’re shaped like the main cheese himself, but they just don’t tempt me. On our last trip, Ian asked for some of the Nestle Crunch Dibs, served wherever Mickey icecream bars are sold. Now these are yummy and fun! I was afraid that they would melt all over him, but they stayed surprisingly intact for him to finish the whole container (except for the few that the rest of us swiped from him). If you like Nestle Crunch bars and you like icecream, you’re sure to enjoy these!
4. Frozen Coffee Drinks
I’ve found these throughout the parks but one place that stands out in my mind is the kiosk outside the Transportation & Ticket Center. There are also some kiosks where these are available in the Showcase Plaza area of World Showcase. (Sure, you can now get a frozen coffee drink at Starbucks too – but these are still worth adding to my list.)
5. Funnel Cakes
I think our entire family loves funnel cakes. What’s not to love? Fried dough covered with powdered sugar! These are available throughout the Disney parks at various kiosks. Much like the almonds, you can smell them before you see them, making them almost irresistible.
So tell me . . .
What are YOUR favorite KIOSK snacks?
