My favorite food this week: Roasted Rack of Lamb Medium
Royal Palace, Disney Dream
Heidi Says . . .
It was to be our last night on board the Disney Dream, so when I selected my meal the evening before, I wanted to try something special and different. The choices for the evening at Royal Palace consisted of the following:
- Lobster Macaroni
- Oven-Baked Salmon Royale
- Crispy Roasted Duck Breast
- Roasted Rack of Lamb Medium
- Chateaubriand-Roasted Filet Steak
Due to my allergies, the first two options were out of the question. The Filet sounded good, but I can get a steak anywhere. I wanted to try something new. So, my choices were between the Duck and the Lamb. I think the Brussels Sprouts as a side sold me on the lamb. For the past several years, I’ve been training myself to love Brussels Sprouts!
I am so glad that I tried this. The lamb was tender and literally fell off the bones. It had a nice texture. The flavor seemed a bit salty to me (similar in salt content to ham, which isn’t my favorite); but more of a pork or beef texture.
I really, really enjoyed this meal. So much so, that I’m hoping to enjoy lamb again one of these days – maybe at The Wave in the Contemporary Resort this fall (we have reservations).
In case you’re interested, Brian had the Filet and said it was delicious as well (it looks it!)
It was truly the perfect “last night on board the Dream” meal.
Which of the above listed menu items would have been your top choice?
