Several weeks ago, I connected with Rogers Family Coffee on Twitter (@rogerscoffee). A phrase in their Twitter description intrigued me – “our family-run company grows, imports, and roasts our own coffee beans.” When I was offered the opportunity to try some of their coffees for myself, I definitely jumped at the chance! Readers of my blog know that I love a good hot beverage – coffee, tea, hot cider, you name it.
I spent some time perusing their website and checking out all the great flavor varieties. I found the flavors under the Fairwinds Coffee logo to be the most enticing to me. Here is what the site says about this brand:
Sit back and enjoy the aroma of freshly-roasted coffees from our Fairwinds Coffee brand. Specifically designed and packaged for premium gourmet coffee stores, for makers of handcrafted gourmet coffee gift baskets, and for the general coffee connoisseur, the Fairwinds Coffee experience is unparalleled. We offer a wonderful assortment of regular and gourmet flavored coffee including hazelnut coffee, decaf hazelnut coffee, French vanilla flavored coffee, and our popular coconut cream flavored coffee.
I finally settled on my flavor choices:
- Coconut Cream
- Chocolate Raspberry
- Hawaiian Macadamia Nut
- French Vanilla
I’ve tried all four flavors now and can honestly say that I love them all! Here’s why:
I love that they are whole bean coffees. I just have to pop a few beans in my handy-dandy coffee grinder each morning. Somehow, this makes my coffee seem so much more fresh than the ground varieties.
The flavors are very full and robust. It actually took some trial and error on my part before I figured out exactly how much coffee to use to make the perfect cup for ME (your tastes might be very different). I recently upgraded to a Keurig and I like the versatility of the reusable k-cups. I’ve discovered that a bit of half & half and about 1/2 a packet of Splenda makes a very pleasant cup of coffee.
I feel like I’m getting a gourmet cup of coffee each morning!
Which flavor is my favorite? Well, that depends on the day. And my mood. And maybe the weather! Honestly, I like them all.
I would definitely purchase coffees from Rogers Family Company again, and I’d recommend them to YOU as well.

I enjoyed learning more about the people behind the Rogers Family name. I always love seeing family businesses – and this one, especially, really impresses me with the way they are reaching out to the “greater coffee community” and helping. Beautiful and touching – take the time to watch it!
