Over the past four weeks, I’ve talked to you about all of the “true teas” – teas that come from the Camellia Sinensis plant. Before moving on to other “teas” or infusions, I want to talk to you about a very important variation of green tea and one that is currently taking the world by storm – MATCHA.
Characteristics of Matcha
Matcha originates from Japan and is the finest green tea.
It is grown under shade cloths to trigger the grown of leaves with better flavor and texture.
The leaves are hand-plucked, steamed briefly, dried, aged in cold storage, and then stone-ground into a very fine powder (that resembles the consistency of green baby powder).
Matcha is rich in nutrients and antioxidants and it contains detoxification properties.
It gives a sustained energy boost and is a healthier alternative to coffee.
Our Matcha (from Steeped Tea) is verified to be radiation free.
Using a scale of 1-3 teacups, Matcha contains 1 1/2 teacups of caffeine.
Unlike regular teas that need steeped in your beverage and then strained, Matcha actually gets BLENDED INTO your beverage. That means that you are actually INGESTING the tea leaves. Because of this, drinking 1 cup of Matcha provides the equivalent health benefits of drinking 10 cups of green tea!
Matcha is delicious served hot or iced. We enjoy blending it into
