As a blogger, I may be compensated in some way (either pay, product, or experience) for sharing the post below All opinions are my own. ~Heidi
Last week, Ashley and I attended the #DisneySMMoms On-the-Road event in #Philly. Not only was the event lots of fun, but we gained so much – friendship, knowledge, etc. I want to share about what we saw and learned, but there’s just too much to put into one post. So, I’ll be doing a 4-week series of posts on the event, and each week I’ll feature a different aspect of our day. I hope you’ll check back each Monday!
If you were at the #Philly event, please introduce yourself in the comments and leave a link to your blog! I’d love to stay in touch!
One of the things that I was most looking forward to about the event was the opportunity to meet some of my blogging friends. Ashley and I were both anxious to meet Didi Marie from DISTherapy. Didi and I have both been contributors to the Magical Blogorail for many years, and she’s been a true inspiration to me. Finally seeing her face to face . . . well, it was like running into an old friend (we felt as if we already knew each other). I love that!
One of our newer Magical Blogorail members is the couple behind Home is Where the Mouse Is – James & Lisa. I’m not sure why I didn’t think to get a picture with both of them, but it was great to meet them (and at least I documented our meeting in a picture with Lisa!)
We were lucky enough to be seated with Amanda from Living with the Magic. We’ve been friends on Facebook for awhile now, and it was so great to finally meet her in person. My only regret is that we didn’t make plans to hang out a bit more after the event. I guess we’ll just have to get together again sometime!
In addition to our friends, we were also a bit starstruck! We got to meet the infamous Gary Buchanan – PR Manager and Social Media Managing Editor for Disney – otherwise known as @Gary_Jerry. And there are always stars in our eyes when we reconnect with our dear old friend, Mickey Mouse! He even kissed me on the cheek! (I have to admit, it was a bit surreal having Mickey come to PA, instead of me going to FL!)
Yes, companionship was definitely at the top of my list as far as treasures from the #DisneySMMoms event is concerned. But, I’ve still got lots more to share. Stop back next Monday and I’ll talk a little bit about cuisine.

I was not compensated in any way. The event was free and I paid for my own travel expenses.
