Over the years, I’ve posted tips and tricks for saving for a Disney trip and ways to go to Disney on a budget. I’ve also shared with many friends in person and via social media. There are so many naysayers in the world – you know the ones I mean – the ones who say, “We could never go to Disney – it’s way too expensive!” And I’m here to say, “That’s ridiculous! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” We are probably what would be considered lower-middle class, and we’ve gone to Disney many times.
If you are one of those people who says you can’t go, then you probably need to pick up this little book by former Blogorail writer, Kevin Barry from Frugal Mouse.
A Dream Vacation to Disney World Doesn’t Have to Break the Bank!
Disney World is one of the most amazing places on earth for a family vacation. The attractions…the fireworks…. the characters… the atmosphere… even the weather… it’s magical to say the least.
But it turns out that magic is pretty expensive…
Other Disney books cut out all of the fun by suggesting that you eat Pb & J’s for every meal, and avoid souvenirs like the plague. Not this book… learn how you can save serious money on the biggest costs: park tickets, flights, resorts, food, and more, without sacrificing the magic!
With the Ultimate Guide, You’ll Learn…
- How to save money on flights, gas, and rental cars so that you don’t have to break the bank just to arrive at the park.
- The secret places that in-the-know Disney-goers look for the best deals on park tickets so that your kids can enjoy more rides, while you stay under budget!
- How to save big on your on-site stay, or live in off-site luxury for next to nothing!
- Easy, practical ways to cut down on food costs without sacrificing fun and convenience.
- How to navigate Disney’s endless options, simplify your trip planning, and save money at the same time!
- And much more!
Taking your family on a dream vacation doesn’t have to require years of saving. With the knowledge you’ll gain from this book, you’ll be able to visit Disney World more often, stay there longer, and leave with extra money in your wallet. You’ll pay off the full cost of this book in your first hour at Disney World…Actually, you’ll pay it off many times over before you even get to the park!
Heidi Says . . .
I’ve read lots of books, websites, and blog posts with ideas on ways to save for Disney. In fact, I’ve even written some of them. I stated above that I’ve shared our own personal tips and tricks with friends many times. Honestly, I thought I’d heard (and done) it all. I didn’t expect to find any new advice in Kevin’s book. I just wanted to read it because Kevin is a blogging friend and I wanted to support him in his new adventure of authorship.
Then, the book arrived, and I took it up to bed with me one night. As a sat there reading and my poor husband was trying to go to sleep, I kept interrupting him with things like, “hey, listen to this!” and, “you’re going to need to read this chapter.”
My husband and I were charter members of the Disney Visa. Our family has been able to take trips that we’ve paid for IN FULL using points earned on this card! I know, though, that we have had a unique situation and not everyone is able to do this.
That’s where Kevin’s book fascinated me! I thought we knew everything there was about maximizing the credit card system; but Kevin introduced me to ways to use credit cards to fly to Disney for free (or very cheap) and ways to stay off-site (or at the Swan or Dolphin) for very reasonable rates. His tips were new and fresh – I hadn’t seen them on other websites or in any other books. I appreciated that!
While his chapter on Park Tickets contained mostly information that I already knew (and have shared), it is definitely information that a new Disney traveler needs to know!
And, in the chapter on Food, I found a few ideas that I’m putting into practice for my next visit (one of which I shared in my post last week, but I’m not going to tell you which one because you need to read the book to find out).
So, in other words, even the experts can learn at least a tip or two from this book (I did). And, the naysayers who can never go to Disney because it’s too expensive . . . well, they can make plans for a trip of a lifetime and save a LOT of money while doing so!
So go buy the book and start planning your frugal vacation now!
Kevin’s book can be purchased from Amazon. The paperback version (which is the one I have) sells for $12.57. However, if you want to be really frugal, the Kindle version is available (at the time of this writing) for only $2.99 (of course, you need a Kindle or the Kindle app to read it)!
