Monday
A few months ago, I started What Matters Monday. Obviously, I haven’t been posting weekly, as this is only my 3rd post.  Things have been busy here at Heidi’s Head – and that’s a good thing!  There are lots of things that matter to me, though, so I want to take a few moments and share some of them with you today. . .

It matters that . . . my oldest daughter is turning 20 this Friday.  In celebration, we took the day (last Sunday) and went to Lancaster for some shopping.  We ended our day by seeing Steven Curtis Chapman, Laura Story, and Jason Gray in concert.  It was a FABULOUS day!

It matters that . . . my husband is facing an uncertain future with his job, after being employed at the same company for 25 years.  These are scary times for so many.  But we trust that God will meet our needs and that He will lead and direct us where He would have us to be, and where we can be best used for Him.  (If you know of anyone in need of a bookkeeper/accountant, let me know!)

It matters that . . . we have a Disney trip coming up soon!  We were keeping a secret from my youngest 2 children, but in light of the present circumstances surrounding my husband’s employment, we felt it might lighten the mood in our house to tell them.  They were pretty pleased – and now we can countdown together. (31 days!)

It matters that . . . I’m excited about the Christmas holidays again!  For several years after losing my friend Sue, I just didn’t have the energy or the excitement to do much decorating.  Putting up the tree was such an emotional event that, if I didn’t have a family, I wouldn’t have done it.  Last year, I got excited again!  This year, I’m so ready that we actually put our tree up the other day (so we can get lots of enjoyment out of it before our Disney trip).  We haven’t done the rest of our decorating yet, but there is this:

What are the things that matter to YOU this week?
