As a blogger, I may be compensated in some way (either pay, product, or experience) for sharing the post below All opinions are my own. ~Heidi
As I signed on to Facebook this morning, I saw so many things that just really don’t matter (to me, anyway). Like, for example, the trashy way that Miley acted at the VMA’s last night. As appalling as it is/was, and as much as I don’t want my kids caught up in that kind of garbage, it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. So, I got to thinking about what does matter. And, it prompted me to start a new series on my blog. . .
I can’t promise that I’ll post every Monday because life does tend to get in the way sometimes. But, I hope to take Mondays to reflect on the previous week and share some of the things that have happened that really do matter. Let’s start with these:
It matter that . . . this morning, as all the neighborhood kids got on that big yellow bus to head off for their first day of school, my kids were home with me. Ian was busy entertaining himself while Gracie slept in. Sure, they’ll get their schoolwork done today, but they also get to focus on the things that interest them and I get to experience every moment of it with them! Time passes so quickly – I treasure this time I have with my kids!
It matters that . . . my 19 year old has every bit as much fun at the Crayola Experience on Friday as my 7 year old did! (This 43 year old had a blast herself!)
It matters that . . . Ian sees me on the sidelines at his soccer games, and looks over at the camera – smiling! (Those who have the opportunity to see him play, know that there’s a smile on his face – and a bounce in his step – the entire time he’s on the field!)
It matters that . . . as a mom, I had to eat those words I said a long time ago, that went something like this: “My kids will never read the Harry Potter books!” LOL
It matters that . . . after about 2 weeks of being laptop-less, this new friend arrived on my doorstep! Oh, it’s good to be back in touch and able to work!
And it matters that . . . today is National Dog Day. I’m so glad that God saw fit to bring another furry friend into our family.
What are some of the things that matter to YOU this week?
