Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are telling you all about some of the best quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World.
Over the years, I’ve heard many people mention that the food at Disney is “all the same” – in other words, no matter where you go, they serve the same food. Well, I don’t know if things have changed drastically over the years (I think this could be true, to some degree) or if these people just don’t know where to look (which, in my opinion, is more likely the case). There’s so much more to Walt Disney World than hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken fingers, people!
My family has taken many a 10-day vacation to Walt Disney World, and not eaten the same thing twice in those 10 days. There are so many great food options – both Table Service AND Quick Service to choose from – whether you’re in the parks or not. Since this post is about Quick Service restaurants, I wanted to focus on one of our newer favorites . . .
Wolfgang Puck Express
If you’re at Walt Disney World – or just in the area doing other things – be sure to make a trip over to Disney Springs and check out this restaurant.
The Atmosphere
The dining room at Wolfgang Puck Express is nothing special. It’s somewhat crowded and it’s usually fairly loud in there. The lighting is dim, making it seem a bit more “high-class” that your typical fast food joint. The tables and chairs are wooden and not particularly comfortable. But, I love that I can sit down there and that people bring me the food – and come around offering drink refills, etc. This is a huge bonus, especially after a long park day!
There is also outdoor seating available, which is nice if you’re there during a time of year when the weather is nice enough to eat outdoors (it’s much quieter out there).
The Food
We really love the food here! On our first visit, I tried the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf (which had come highly recommended). It was fabulous! The next time we went, my husband ordered it and he loved it too.
Ashley tried the Macaroni & Cheese on our first visit, and said it was extra yummy! It’s definitely a step up from your basic at-home mac & cheese.
Ashley and I have both ordered the Meatloaf Sandwich a few times. Oh my gosh – it was delicious! But, it was also HUGE! In hindsight, I wish we had ordered just one meal and split it. But, because it was so delicious and I didn’t want to waste it, I somehow managed to squeeze it all in. She did too. We were stuffed afterwards, though! (We ordered this again on our last visit and realized that the bread had changed and the sandwich seemed smaller – I didn’t enjoy it quite as much, so will definitely be trying something else next time!)
Gracie went for her traditional choice of Crispy Chicken Tenders & Fries. It looked pretty typical, but she enjoyed it and ate the entire meal!
Ian chose the Cheese Pizza from the Kids’ Menu – it’s a flatbread-type pizza. He said it was “the best pizza EVER” (which is saying something because Ashley and I think we make the best pizza ever!) Pizza isn’t Ian’s favorite food, so that was a REAL compliment coming from him!
