When the kids and I went to Disney in September 2012, we had dinner one evening at Wolfgang Puck Express with my dear friend Kim and her family. (If you need a travel agent to help you with your Disney travel, I would highly recommend Kim – she’s THE BEST THERE IS!) Anyway, we loved our meals there. While it’s a quick-service restaurant where you order at a counter, it’s different in that they bring the food out to you at your tables. And it’s definitely a step up from your traditional counter-service foods. We knew that Brian would love it, so we wanted to take him there.
We decided to head to Downtown Disney after a full day at Animal Kingdom on Sunday December 15th. Dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express made perfect sense!
The dining room at Wolfgang Puck Express is nothing special. It’s somewhat crowded and it’s usually fairly loud in there. The lighting is dim, making it seem a bit more “high-class” that your typical fast food joint. The tables and chairs are wooden and not particularly comfortable. But, I love that I can sit down there and that people bring me the food – and come around offering drink refills, etc. This is a huge bonus, especially after a long park day!
We really love the food here! On our first visit, I tried the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf (which had come highly recommended). It was fabulous! So much so that it’s what I recommended for Brian to try this time – and he loved it too. Ashley had tried the Macaroni & Cheese on that first visit and said it was extra yummy!
On this visit, Ashley and I both decided to try the Meatloaf Sandwich. It’s described like this:
Melted Provolone, Bacon, Tomato Chutney, Horseradish Cream, Crispy Onion Strings – Served with Herb Seasoned French Fries
Oh my gosh – it was delicious! But, it was also HUGE! In hindsight, I wish we had ordered just one meal and split it. But, because it was so delicious and I didn’t want to waste it, I somehow managed to squeeze it all in. She did too. We were stuffed afterwards, though!
Gracie went for her traditional choice of Crispy Chicken Tenders & Fries. It looked pretty typical, but she enjoyed it and ate the entire meal!
Ian chose the Cheese Pizza from the Kids’ Menu – at Earl, it’s a flatbread-type pizza. He said it was “the best pizza EVER” (which is saying something because Ashley and I think we make the best pizza ever!) Pizza isn’t Ian’s favorite food, so that was a REAL compliment coming from him!
- Wolfgang Puck Express is located in the Downtown Disney Marketplace, between the Days of Christmas Store and Earl of Sandwich.
- It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and it’s open late).
- Cuisine is American. Atmosphere is casual.
- $10-15 dollars will buy you a very nice meal here (drinks are extra).
- This restaurant counts as one quick-service credit on the Disney Dining Plan.
Would we recommend it?
Most definitely! If you’re looking for a nice place to sit down to a delicious meal for a good price, I would definitely suggest Wolfgang Puck Express.
Will we dine there again?
Yes! And I’ll probably go for some form of meatloaf again too! YUM!
What about YOU?
Have you dined at Wolfgang Puck Express?
I’d love to hear your experiences.
