As a blogger, I may be compensated in some way (either pay, product, or experience) for sharing the post below All opinions are my own. ~Heidi
What are you reading this week? Are you spending time in the written word or are you surfing the net? (Do people still say that?!) I’ve been doing a bit of both, so I thought I’d share.
A Light in the Window
This week, I’m continuing with my re-reading of the Mitford series by Jan Karon, moving on to book 2 – A Light in the Window. [aff] My books have the old covers, but the pages and the story are the same.
I know I said this last week, but I would totally recommend these books. They’re the type of books that you have to read at least once (you know, like To Kill a Mockingbird). Once I finish my current stack of Mitford books, I plan to treat myself to the rest of the series – called the Father Tim books.
Birds & Blooms
I only pay to subscribe to two magazines – Celebrations Magazine (all about Walt Disney World) and Birds & Blooms. I enjoyed reading this magazine during my therapy sessions on my shoulder, and immediately came home and subscribed. Now, I want a bunch of birdfeeders hanging outside and some new flower beds! If I could just get Brian on board . . .
Around the Web
My interests are so varied, and I think that’s quite obvious in my reading choices this week! I’m going to pull from the words on the cover of my Facebook page . . .
My blogging friend Bryce went on a trip last year with the goal of riding some of the country’s best roller coasters. I so enjoyed reading his Facebook statuses that I suggested that he write a book. He pitched the idea to Theme Park Press and, several months later, he has a book in print! I’m so excited to read it! (I’m guessing there will be a review coming soon to my blog!) He shares the good news in Coaster Crusade Book Launch.
I was invited to a prescreening of the 13 Hours movie, so I’ve been reading (and watching) everything that I can about this movie. Here are a few more interesting articles about the movie:
I love this post by Tricia Goyer, showing never-before-seen pictures of their family of 12! Just the other day, they added 4 new daughters to their family (legally, as they have been living with them for awhile now). This is just a beautiful story that you’ll want to learn more about. Could adoption be for your family?
If you’ve been following my blog for the past few months, then you’ve probably picked up on our #2yrmusicaljourney. Gracie and I are on a mission to see, watch, and/or listen to as many musicals as we possibly can. So far, we’ve seen shows locally and we’ve been to DC and NYC. Online, I enjoy following Playbill on Facebook. It’s a very active Facebook page, sharing links to articles and videos relating to Broadway shows. Here are just a few of the posts that had my attention this past week:
Hopefully we can get tickets to see this one – I pretty much love Josh Groban! His voice = perfection.
Since I’m looking forward to being at the Walt Disney World resort at least twice this coming year, I’m excited for these 16 Reasons 2016 will be an Unforgettable Year.
