Yesterday I shared my thoughts on a new Bible from Zondervan – the Super Heroes Bible in 3D. Today, I want to share about another Bible that I received from Zondervan – this one geared toward girls . . .
About the Young Women of Faith Bible

Designed to encourage you to develop a habit of studying God’s Word, you’ll discover how relevant the Bible can be to your everyday life. Weekly studies and many of the side notes are also linked to the women’s study Bible, the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible, allowing you and your mom to share God’s Word together.
Features include: Weekly Bible studies apply biblical truths to life, Side notes address difficult passages and offer historical and cultural insights, Journal captures other girls’ experiences or struggles along with space for you to record your own, ‘I Believe’ statements of faith and foundational beliefs, ‘Memory Challenges’ are verses worth remembering, ‘If I Were There . . .’ include Bible stories that place you in the Bible character’s situation.
Heidi Says . . .
God knows exactly what we need, and when. And despite the fact that I know this to be true, I need constant reminders. I remind myself of the children of Israel sometimes – so slow to learn! Anyway . . .
Just a few days before the opportunity presented itself to review this Bible, my 13-year-old daughter told me that she needed MORE. She wanted to be more challenged in Sunday School and Youth Group. She wanted to know WHY the people in the Bible felt the way they did or what it might feel like to live in Bible times. She wanted to dig deeper.
This Bible does all that!
Here are some of the features in this Bible that I am impressed with:
NIV version – I grew up on the NIV so it’s what I’m most familiar with. My children, however, are becoming more familiar with the ESV. That’s great, but I love that they can have more than one version of the Bible available to contract and compare. It’s a great tool for digging deeper and learning more of Scripture.
Book Introductions – at the beginning of each book of the Bible, there’s a brief introduction about the author, the time period, and their reason for writing. These introductions also give a list of the familiar stories from the book.
Sidebar Notes – This is one of the features that I was most excited about for my daughter! “These notes explain difficult Scripture and offer historical and cultural insight into things that happened in Bible times.”
Journal – these simple journal entries share the thoughts of other girls and allow a place for the Bible’s owner to write her own thoughts.
Weekly Bible Studies – this Bible contains 52 full-page studies. Each one leads the reader through several passages of Scripture and helps apply to truths learned to life. If mom has the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible, these Bible studies are able to be used together with mom and daughter, for even further study and bonding.
I am so excited to have found this Bible at exactly the right time and pray that it will be the challenge that my daughter has been desiring.
If you have a young woman in your life who is longing to learn more and dig deeper into the Word of God, I’d recommend checking out the Young Women of Faith Bible.
